2024 - 2025 Expenditure
1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
Intent
- Continue to encourage physical activities for pupils, supporting them to make positive lifestyle choices.
- Continue to provide access to and involvement in physical activities break times.
- Continue to develop positive attitudes towards health and fitness, developing social and emotional well-being through physical activity.
- Continue to support pupils develop their physical fitness and spacial awareness through extended physical provision.
Implementation
- PE is timetabled weekly and lessons complement pupils’ personal development and improve their health and well being.
- All pupils from Reception to Year 6 receive high quality PE lessons for a minimum of 2 hours per week, developing key skills.
- Pupils from Years 4 – 6 attend high quality swimming lessons. Pupils have the opportunity to enhance their skills, building from their personal starting points / levels.
- Maintain and replenish play equipment, supporting pupils to develop positive attitudes towards health and fitness and improve their overall well being

2. The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement.
Intent
- Children benefit from high quality sports lessons as part of the curriculum entitlement.
- Continue to develop strong leadership of sport, providing consistency in the provision for physical education across the academy.
- Continue to develop academy ‘houses’ (competitive teams) to raise the profile, participation and enjoyment of sports.
Implementation
- The curriculum leader for PE is experienced in delivering quality physical education lessons and has a background in health and fitness.
- The curriculum leader for PE organises sporting events and fixtures across the Maidstone Cluster academies to raise the profile of PE and sport amongst our pupils.
- The Curriculum leader for PE organises and runs sporting clubs for our pupils that aim to further enhance and raise the profile of PE within and across our academy.
- The PE Leaders will attend available CPD sessions both within LAT and beyond and continue working closely with the Trust PE Curriculum Advisor.
- Leader to ensure that the curriculum area is well resourced.

Intent
- Provide CPD for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), developing and sustaining high quality physical education provision across the academy.
- PE coordinator to access / deliver high quality training opportunities for all staff and monitor subject development.
Implementation
- Collaborative planning and training opportunities ensure all staff members are prepared to lead PE with clear schemes of work and assessment frameworks.
- Continue to develop and lead a schedule of CPD for teachers and LSAs to continue enhancing the provision for sports across the academy.

4. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
Intent
- Enhance and extend the range of physical activities and sports offered in after school clubs.
- Continue to broaden the range of sports and activities offered to pupils across the academy.
- Enhance and extend the range of physical activities and sports offered for extra curricular opportunities.
Implementation
- Pursue further opportunities to work with organisations offering other sporting clubs / curriculum experiences.
- The Curriculum leader for PE will continue to enhance extra curricular provisions, leading after school sporting events and arrange opportunities for pupils to engage in competitions with other schools both within and outside of the Trust.

Intent
- Continue to increase opportunities for competitive activities, exploring sporting opportunities that are available within the local area.
- Further develop links with other educational settings to enhance multi-school sporting events.
- Continue to develop pupils’ understanding of sportsmanship and competitive environments.
- Continue to engage with other Trust academies, providing regular opportunities for pupils to engage in a range of competitive sports.
Implementation
- Maintain girls and boys football teams.
- Increase school participation in a range of sports.
- Engage with inter-house and LAT competitions throughout the year.
- Regularly engage with stakeholders through social media, sharing sporting arrangements and achievements..
